Some time in the course of the following year, 1587, he conveyed or assigned his American interest to some merchants of London. The next year, he fur- nished a ship and men in the expedition against the Spanish Armada, hut nothing appears to show that he went in the ex- pedition himself. F Neither were his services of much account in the expedition under Drake and Norris to restore Don Antonio to the throne of Portugal, as he is not mentioned by either of the commanders in connection with it J After the return of that expedition, a quarrel * I found the original in the Bodleian Library, at Oxford.
