We now present the subsequent events in the form of a brief DIARY OF DISASTER.
Aug. 24th, 1857. Failure of the Ohio Life and Trust Company was an- nounced. A few days before, its stock had sold at 102, and it had declared a semi-annual dividend of 5 per cent.
