Yet we may at times expose our lives to imminent danger, provided, as in the case of evil indirectly willed (No. 51), we do not directly intend our death, and the good to be thereby obtained is worthy of so great a risk. 146. Man has duties towards God and towards himself ; in regard to his fellow-men he has both duties and rights. We are still speaking of man as an individual and not as a member of society.
