Is there further discus- sion of the gentleman's amendment? Mr. Kim. Mr. Chairman. Mr. Bereuter. The gentleman from California, Mr. Kim. Mr. Kim. I am not disagreeing or objecting. I just have one ques- tion to you, the gentleman from Samoa. You like to say what coun- tries take out a place in organization. Just out of curiosity, w...hy is that? Is there some special reason why you need to work govern- ments instead of countries? Mr. Falkomavakga. I think one of the unique features in some of the working relationships that currently exist in the Pacific re- gion is that we have some of the territories involved also with some of these. For example, one of the unique features, and I think it is something that I am proud of, the fact that American Samoa is a U. S. Territory. But basically when you talk about the culture and heritage and the history of my people that I can say the same thing can be spoken of by my Polynesian cousins living in — and the Tahi- tians in French Polynesia or the Samoans in the independent state of Western Samoa.
