1. An indictment for high treason by compassing and imagining the Queen's death must state that the defendant traitorously compassed and imagined the Queen's death, and that in order to fulfil such compassing and imagination he did a certain overt act or acts, which must be stated in the indictment.
2. It was formerly necessary in an indictment for murder to describe the means by which the death was caused, as well as to say that the defendant murdered the deceased felonious

An indictment for perjury must state (a) that there was a judicial proceeding before a competent authority ; (b) that upon such proceeding it was a material question whether a certain thing was tnie ; (c) that the defendant swore that it was or was not true corruptly and knowing the contrary ; (d) that, in fact, what the defendant swore was false.
4. An indictment for obtaining goods under false pretences must state that the defendant obtained the goods by a certain pretence, which pre- tence must be set out, also that the pretence was false in fact.
