Uniformity in keeping records would be a valuable step in advance, because it would permit more accurate comparisons among schools. Table 22 gives data on fewer schools than most other tables, because it was impossible to secure the enrollment for the different months, due to a frequent custom of carrying only the total enrollment to date for the year. The usual minor classifications of schools were therefore omitted. The students of county high schools seem to be more regular in attend- ance than those of district schools.
