Note. — The first of these Jive classes comes under the non-hidated, or ingelddble, or Extra- Hundredal, system.
The second, third, fourth and fifth classes come under the ...hidated or geldable or Intra-Hundredal system ; which further occupies, in the form of Schedules of Fiefi, the whole residue of the Dorset Domesday.
At the date of Domesday the Crown Demesnes of Dorset were divided into six groups, just as they had been in the days of King Edward. Each of these groups, though called " a Manor " in Domesday, consisted of several Manors, the names of such component Manors being most of them expressed in the Record, but some of them veiled under the general terms of AppendicicB or Pertinentia.
