My family want me to marry this man, and I don't like him and I don't want to marry him. I'm sure there'll be somebody else that I would like to marry. " 106 Bingham: So I said, "Well, it's very hard for me to tell you because I don't know anything except that in your culture you follow that pattern and eventually accept it and enjoy it, and in time hopefully, love the man that you marry. " Because it seemed to me that there were many happy marriages that had been arranged in the Japanese way of doing things.
