Just the other day he’d raced and beaten her in a run around the block, then rubbed his victory in her face. What she’d been planning to do, but he’d ruined it by winning. She’d retaliated of course, but she had further proof he’d never be easy to manage or a “nice guy.”
There, he was Thorn again, as in, a thorn in her side.
