...ect and concave, thus giving the branches a turgid appearance, oval-oblong, narrowed to the base, slightly denti- culate towards the shortly acuminate acute apex, the margins incurved towards the apex; costa short, indistinct and double; median leaf-cells linear, somewhat incrassate, often somewhat obtvise at ends, about 8-10:1, shorter at the apex, the alar much enlarged and inflated, the marginal thin-walled, the inner ones incrassate, hyaline to yellowish-brown, forming well-defined and somewhat inflated auricles ; perichastial leaves whitish, the outer with flexuous spreading tips, the inner erect, long-acumi- nate, often erose-denticulate at the apex, plicate : capsule short, oval to oblong, cernuous, turgid, yellowish-brown; peri stom e- teeth yellowish, slender, strongly tirabeculate; segments cari- nately cleft and about equalled in length by the 2 or 3 granu- iose and nodose cilia; annulus usually 3-seriate; spores ma- ture in spring.
