175 Trimeresurus A'nemaleensis and Hypnale nepa are in the moist forests and in coffee estates on the slopes. OpJiio- jphagus elops (the hill cobra) and the four species of CallopJds are very rare. Naja tripudians (the cobra), Bungarus coeruleus (the carpet snake), and Daboia elegans (the cobra monil or chain viper) are common only about the foot ; the little Echis is very common in dry rocky ground, but not up to any elevation.
