At the re- ligious meetings he was made much of as a fellow- worker in the vineyard of the Lord, a mighty in- strument in the hands of the Lord for the preach- ing of the blessed gospel to the lost sheep of the house of Israel, and thousands of Christian men and women heard him gladly, in spite of his painful abuse of the English language, because they enjoyed the rare sight of a Jew preaching Christ.
