On a manor roll of Sibton of 1366 {D. Sibton) ffolpald is named as a jurat, and as giving evidence as to certain tenures at Kelsale (close to Carlton).
19. ROGER FFOLPALD, of Kelsale, was probably a son of the foregoing. In 1450 he is named on several manor rolls of Kelsale (D. Xvi. Kelsale). Most of the lands named in them seem to have been in Carlton.
20. WILLIAM FFALPOLD, of Kelsale, was very likely a brother of the last. In a manor roll of that place [D. Kelsale) of 1450 his name occurs twi
...ce as a tenant of land.
21. JOHN FFALPOLD, of Kelsale, may have been son to the foregoing. In the rolls named above he is repeatedly named as holding lands at Carlton (12 acres), and others at Middleton. In 1480 he did homage at the Manor Court of Kelsale, and in 1483 he and his wife are referred to as "John fiblpald and Emma his wife. " In the first of the two years named John ffolpald was appointed joint Commissioner with Thomas Bysshop to render account, and " Alicia, relict of John Amys, " is subsequently stated to have held one acre of land in Carlton belonging to John ffolpald.
