He also sent a company of dragoons to Parras to enforce obedience to his circular, and, if practicable, to take Governor Aguire prisoner. The deputies refused to obey his orders, and consequently did CAMPAIGN IN MEXICO. 61 not meet; and Aguire fled to San Luis de Potosi, and quiet was restored to Coahuila.
Brif^adier General Gushing reported to General Wool on the 17th July, and was assigned to the command of the volunteers.
