While teaching she fre- quently read pape...rs on some phase of ethics as related to the schools before Teachers' Institutes, and also addressed teachers on the subject of temperance teaching. Served as Secretary for the Teachers' Association, and was a member of the committee for uniformity of text books in Chemung County, N. Y. She served in the Women's Christian Temperance Union as local and county officer and as State Superintendent of Scientific Temperance Institution. Also served as leader in the Foreign Mission work of the Baptist Church.
