Among other activities intercollegiate debating has received considerable attention. Early in 1910 How- ard, Fisk, and Atlanta University formed a triangular debating league, and in 191 1 Morehouse, Knoxville, and Talladega did the same, though Morehouse and Talladega, beginning their contests in 1906, have maintained longer unbroken relations than any other institutions. Several schools, notably Hampton, Shaw, Fisk, and Atlanta University have from time to time sent quartettes through the North to raise money by singing the old melodies.
