About fifteen consolidations have been made during this time, and many of the old buildings have been torn away and replaced by new modern structures. Dur- ing the past two and one-half years $325,000 has been expended in this way. Though some excellent frame houses have been built, most of the new ones are brick. One of the new brick buildings is heated throughout with steam, and four of them with the liot- air system.
