It was on St. Patrick's day (March i;th) that he treated us to the most furious bombardment he has been guilty of during our long acquaintance up to the present. Along the whole front he suddenly let loose his guns about mid-day, and kept going without a break, in a fashion we had hardly thought him capable of, until dusk.
