When the desii'ed number of plants have been selected and marked with a label or bamboo, go through with a trustworthy native and see that all opened cotton from the marked plants only is collected into a special bag before thegeneral picking commences, afterwards removing the marks from the plants, so that any subsequently ripened cotton may be harvested with the common lot.
