The Sultan signified his consent, and Tukang Burck slowly uncovered the hilt 261 ALSO AND PERHAPS of the kris, drew from his belt the weapon (still in its scabbard), and, leaning forward till he was almost pros- trate, presented it with the handle towards the Sultan.
