(W-2") long; outer glumes nearly equa...l, long-acuminate-pointed, strongly scabrous on the keel, excepting near the base; flowering glumes (6,c) much shorter than the outer ones and remarkable for the long hairs on the callus.- Plains, Mendocino County, California (Pringle), and northward to Oregon (?)• August.
Probably of some value for sandy soils.
