The rules are given to show what is regarded as a fair proportion, but the weight must be at least 125 pounds, except when less is especially authorized by the superintendent or the Adjutant General. In such cases the recruiting officer's reasons and the super- intendent's order should be noted in full on the enlistment papers. Any considerable disproportion, however, of height over weight is cause for rejection ; for a marked dispropor- tion of weight over height do not reject unless the applicant is positively obese.
