The poifonous Effects of Opium, whether in a folid or fluid State, may be confidered in the fame Light, as Ebriety from fpirituous Liquors -, a, very fmall Quantity will overcome a weak Conftitution, while a ftrong one will require much more ; neverthelefs, a weak Conftitution, ufed to Opium, will bear as much, uninjured, as the ftrongeft, if un- accuftomed to the Ufe of it.
