The diftance from the Sioto to the Miflifippi is 800 miles ; from thence to the fea is 900. This whole courfe is eallly run in 15 days; and the pafTage up thofe rivers is not fo difficult as has ufually been reprefented. It is found, by late experiments, that fails are ufed to great advantage againft the current of the Ohio : And it is worthy of obfervation, that in all probability fleam-boats will be found to do infinite fervicc in all our ex- tenfive river navigation.
