The first was peculiar to his own person, in the way of authoritative benediction. Viii. 10, the whole congregation laid hands on the Levites in their consecra- tion. And it was of old of common use among the Jews in the dedi- cation of their rulers, rabbins, or teachers, being called by them n^^TOD a^T.
