Franklin Avenue, as before stated, extends from Dismal Hollow to Serena's Arbor, a dis- tance of a quarter of a mile. It varies in width from thirty to sixty feet; it has a wild and gloomy appearance.
* Named for Dr. Crogan, a former proprietor of tlie Cave, — improperly spelled Grogan by Dr. Wright.
