In 1800 Luther White carted his lumber to a saw mill near Henry Whiting's (Reuben Delano place) to be sawed for his new house. It was commenced and raised August, 1801, finished and ready to occupy that fall. Their youngest son, Thomas Foster, was born in the east room, February 10, 1802, where he died, April 2, 1887, aged 85 years, 1 month, and 22 days. A few weeks after his birth his cousin, Thomas Foster, paid him a visit, and being childless, asked to bestow his name upon the new babe, and ...was allowed to do so. The west cham- ber was finished for a shoe shop. The bench which he used still remains in the house. His death, which occurred October 27, 1818, aged 60 years, was a great and irreparable loss to his family. His widow, Mrs. Mary (Deleno) White, d. March 3, 1831, aged 67 years. Philip Deleno, father of Mary (Deleno) White, was admitted a freeman, January 1, 1632, and early removed to Duxbury, where he settled a little noilhwest of Alden*s on the north side of Mill brook. His farm was confirmed to him in 1637, extending from Digitized by LjOOQ IC 148 WHITE FAMILY.
