It again becomes our duty at the close of the school year to report to the town the condition of the schools and the man- ner in which we have performed our duties.
At the election of March, 1S87, Dr. Frank H. Rowe was elected a member of the Board for three years. On March nth the Board met and organized for the year with C B.

The duties of the Board were divided, Dr. F. H. Rowe visiting and having special supervision of Nos.... 1, 5, 6, 7 and 9 ; Mr. Beal, Nos. 2, 3, 4, 8 aid 10, and each have visited all the schools during the year.
All the teachers have been elected by the full board. It was thought by some last year that the Board did not give all the teachers a thorough examination. It was not thought necessary to examine those who had taught in town before, nor to go to the expense of holding a regular examination.
But on account of the fault found heretofore it was decided this vear to have a written examination of all teachers, which was held on April 4th, at No.
