REPORT OF THE SCHOOL BOARD For the Year ending March 1, 1890.
It again becomes the duty of your school board at the close of another school year to make its annual report.
At the school meeting of March 18S9, E. P. French was elected a member of the Board for three years.
On March 13th the board met and organized with Dr. F.
H. Rowe, president, C. B. Beal, treasurer, and E. P. French, secretary.
The duties of the board were divided as fallows : Chas. B.
Beal having charge of Nos. 1, 2. 9 and 10...; E. P. French, Nos. 3, 4 and 5 ; and Dr. F. H. Rowe 6, 7 and 8 ; and aside from these special visits each have visited the other schools during the year so far as they could.
All teachers have been required to pass a satisfactory ex- amination before commencing their schools, with the excep- tion of those who had taught in town before and been pre- viously examined.
Seventeen different teachers have been employed, four haye remained in the same school during the year. Two, Miss Walker and Miss Tilton have taught through the year but in different schools.
