This amount has been paid, ms ie(iuired by law, to the Paymasters of the different organizations, as will appear in the Treasurer's report of this date.
To the members of the National Guard, and to ail others who take an interest in the military of the State, the great superiority of the present law over those of other years is apparent. In strung con- trast with the incongruous, conflicting laws in force just prior to the adoption of the present one, we see now an efficient law giving us a popular State organization, a compact, well officered, drilled and dis- ciplined body of men, available at any time, at any place for imme- diate service.
