The Board of Domestic Missions respectfully present to the General Assembly, this their Sixty-eighth Annual Report. We discharge this duty with mingled feelings of sadness and joy — with sadness, as this is the last Report of ...the Board as a separate agency of the 0. S. Branch of the Church ; and with joy, in view of its consolidation with the Home Missionary Committee of the N. S. Branch of the Church — the fruit of our blessed Re-union.
During the first nine months of the year, the receipts of the Board were greatly diminished as compared with the corres- ponding period of the year preceding; but during the last three months of the year, they were much larger than was antici- pated, so that we were enabled to close the year with a large balance in the treasury.
