The case work method used in the Special Permit Depart- ment has brought to light the need of better law enforce- ment in the counties and we have been working very closely with the State Department of Education in trying to secure the cooperation of the attendance officers in solving the prob- lem. As a result of these discussions a joint committee on School Attendance and Child Labor Laws has been appointed to study the present procedure of issuing permits and to make suggestions for its impr...ovement. A report from the committee will be presented at the 1932 annual meeting of the county attendance officers.
