We are o...f the opinion that an annual expendi- ture of not less than that amount is necessary in the future in order to maintain the equipment in good operating condition.
It may be assumed, therefore, that the company should here- after expend about $14,000 a year for maintenance of way and structures and about $11,000 for maintenance and depreciation of equipment, which would represent a total maintenance ex- pense of $25,000 a year. The importance of proper expenditures for maintenance and due provision for depreciation cannot be too strongly emphasized.
