Anderson 44 COTTAGE HOSPITAL VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE During this last year, our service has purchased another new ambulance and has made some changes in our way of operating. Our new 'Municipal" by Yankee Coach was selected because of its smoother ride for use in transfers between hospitals and other facilities. This unit is also fully equipped ...for emergency responses. This ambulance cost us $24,623 and has a balance of $13,500.
Our modular ambulance, bought in mid 1982 for $29,980 is best suited for emergency responses because of its roomy "box" body that allows us to carry more equipment and people. The "Municipal" replaced a unit with nearly 80,000 miles on it and the modular unit replaced a 1974 Dodge that we sold to the Warren-Wentworth Squad.
We made a change in our weekend coverage in September of 1983 by hiring some of our best qualified EMT's to be on call at Cottage Hospital through each weekend.
