Problems have been at a mini- mum and, when they have occurred, have been solved with a minimum of conflict for both the pupil and the... teachers.
The focus as regards the total program has been on the fundamentals; reading, writing, and arithmetic. This is as it should be. I firmly believe 53 that our youngsters must have this fundamental background if they are to successfully compete with others whatever their ultimate goals may be.
To insure that this type of school be main- .tained, I have advised the Board that a re-evaluation of the salary policy is mandatory. We all know that the critical element in any school is the teaching staff.
