WILDER JOHN F. KELLY Budget Committees 13 Selectmen's Report This has, as usual, been another busy year for the Selectmen as well as all Town officials and employees. Rye is reaching the point of being a not-so-small, small town and as this year's proposed budget indicates, it is a million dollar business. Rye is and has been extremely fortunate to have as officers and em- ployees, persons whose first concern has always been the Town of Rye above all else. Our police and fire departments are al...ways on call day or night; our highway agent and his department spend many unpaid hours when the need arises and our Tax Collector and Selectmen's secretary are often at work late in the evening if the occasion necessitates it. These extras many times go unnoticed and unthanked. As Chairman, I extend a special thanks from the Board of Selectmen to all employees and department heads for their fine and dedicated work. The criticism leveled at some town employees by some people is simply unfair and completely unwarranted.
