24 The master plan will be a blueprint for Rye's orderly growth over the next 20 years. This plan will be based on the questionnaire sent to Rye taxpayers, an in-depth study of town needs, the work of the Wright- Pierce water quality study, compreh...ensive research of other master plans, and projections based on current and past trends in Rye and the seacoast of New Hampshire. The Board also receives pro- fessional assistance from Southeastern N. H. Regional Planning Commission.
Currently the Board is working on rough drafts and formulating tentative proposals. We wel- come input from citizens and our meetings are open to the public every Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Court room at the Town Hall.
Respectfully submitted, Alex Herlihy, Chairman RYE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT Other than salaries, the largest single item in the highway budget continues to be expenditure for petroleum products.
