Fire Chief O'Brien discussed the problems with the failed system, and the capabilities of the new system. Answering Bill Ladrie, the chief said the system they had cannot be repaired. A new unit would be retro-fitted to the new building when it's complete. Responding to a question from Jack Tobey, the chief stated he has explored the option of a grant and unfortunately with the Homeland Security grants that are out there, it does not address a provision for municipal fire alarm monitoring.
