The thorough and efficiently conducted examination at the close' of the fall term, with quick movements, and prompt, distinct, and generally correct, answers on the part of the pupils, gave much satisfaction. Good spec- imens of book-keeping, written spelling, and written solutions of mathematical problems, as well as of pen- manship, were on exhibition. The large class in spel- ling had been drilled on 500 words with good result.
