7 School, the winter term was broken to such an extent that the school was kept only thirty weeks. All other schools have kept thirty- two weeks. We think that No. 7 School should be given the weeks due it during the coming fiscal year.
The School Board has endeavored to place a competent teacher in each school. "To err is human." If we have made m...istakes, we have sought to rectify them as soon as possible. The schools, on the whole, have been successful.
The teachers generally have been earnest and painstaking, and have been retained in the same schools, as far as prac- ticable, from term to term. We believe this is for the best interests of the school in which the teacher is placed.
The attendance of pupils has not been so good as it should have been. During the winter term many of the absences were caused by sickness, but many were not.
