Aaron Wojtkowski will be a full time police officer in our town for the next 3 years. The police understand that the position will remain full time only as long as the grant remains in effect. There is no intention to create a permanent position in the foreseeable future. Fire Chief John Gamble worked hard to obtain new carpeting and other additional funds for our Emergency Operations Center from the State. He was also instrumental in obtaining nearly $3500 in emergency road repair funds from t...he State after the historic floods this fall. He and our volunteer firemen spent hundreds of unpaid hours during that disaster pumping out residents homes at no pay. The new Police Station, Emergency Operations Center and two new Fire Station bays are nearly completed again thanks mainly to Chief Gamble and his men. P. K. Erickson and the Recycling Committee hit a home run with the curbside recycling program. Our dump fees have been cut in half by the reduction in curbside trash caused by the pay-per-bag program.
