320 The average number of patients has been 1551 or 21 i more than last year. The Hospital has been very crowded at times and the need of more beds has been much felt. Average at the Asylum 165, average cost of each patient per week at the Hospital $10.85, and at the Asylum $19.23 During the summer months, two new buildings of iron and wood, connected by covered corridors, with the main buildings were begun ; one is now occupied and the other is nearly ready for use. These build- ings are to be... called the Jackson and the Warren, in memory of the valuable services of the late Drs. James Jackson, and J. Mason Warren. As they are built on a different plan from any Hospital buildings in this part of the world, we append a wood-cut and explanation of same. Appointments in the Hospital and to out-patients, etc. July 13th, 1873, Dr. H. K. Oliver, Jr., resigned as one of the Visiting Physicians, and Dr. George G. Tarbell was appointed in his place. July 11th, 1873, Dr. Henry Tuck was appointed Physician to out-patients.
