October 29, 1999- Martha W Bixby was Francestown'... s oldest resident and holder of the Boston Post cane. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, painting and her gardens. All will be greatly missed by the community. Two basketball programs for students from elementary up to middle school are run over the winter months, both at the new elementary school. 36 children from grades one to eight participate in the program.
