Townsend froze. ‘Why not?’ ‘Just don’t.’ Frank gestured for us to go outside and we did. He took out his mobile and stabbed the buttons. He gave his name, the location, reported the discovery of a body and agreed to remain where he was.
‘Jesus,’ Townsend said, ‘at least let’s have a look around.
