jähr sind aber auch Kälteperioden nicht selten und so kann es kommen, dass ein früher gesäeter Hafer z. B. bei wärmerem Wetter schneller keimt als ein etwas später gesäeter.
Unsere Keimungs- un...d Infektionsversuche erhalten noch eine wesentliche Stütze imd Begründung durch die Beobachtungen von Herzberg, welcher das Temperatur- Minimum, Optimum und Maximum der Keimung mehrerer Ustilago- Arten und speciell auch vom Flugbrand des Hafers feststellte. Diese im Zopf sehen Laboratorium mög- lichst genau ausgeführten Beobachtungen enthoben mich der Feststellung der Keimungs- Temperatur-Grenzen. Dieselben ergaben sich aus der folgenden Tabelle von Herzberg: Digitized by Google — 348 — t nach 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24 und 48 Stunden nach der Saat 22—23 C» Im Ust.
