" It's a long way around to the bridge we crossed this morning, and you're tired, Mar- cia. " Drake reflected; then suddenly he cried: " What an idiot I am ! Jump out and wait here for me; I'll be back presently. " Before Marcia could realise that she was on the ground, Drake had turned the machine around, flying back to the deserted village.
