But they are in error who suppose that the only form which piety assumes in woman is an absolute negation of all of life but what is related to the formalities and seasons of religious services. She was not a very religious person. She was not a wicket! woman, certainly ; far from it, indeed. Neither was she an oppres- sively goody-goody one.
