On the map (fig. 2) are shown by continuous lines the isoseis- mals of intensities 5 and 4 and portions of the isoseismals 7 and 6. The isoseismal 7, so far as drawn, is in the form of a semi-ellipse whose shorter axis is 21 miles in length and whose longer axis is directed north and south.
