His mind worked rapidly over the possible outcomes. After a week or two in an insane asylum, Clara Hamilton would be desperate to get out. “Yes, yes, you are quite right.” Arthur pulled on his beard. “It is such a bother at this juncture! Perhaps I should wait. The stockholders will be meeting the day after tomorrow and if I don’t get the money back into the accounts by then, none of this will matter.
