" Since the days of our fathers, have we, our kings, our priests, been delivered into the hands of the kings of the lands, to the sword, tp captivity, to plunder, and to shame of face." The words from ^nna onwards serve to explain what is meant by being delivered into the hand of strange kings. On the expression D''3S HE'S, comp. Dan. ix. 7, etc., 2 Ohron. xxxii.
21. njn Di'n3, as it is this day, as is to-day the case ; see remarks on Dan. ix. 7. The thought is : We are still sorely suffering for our sins, by being yet under the yoke of foreign sovereigns.
